Isaiah 24:9-11

⁹ They do not drink wine with song;
^(A)Strong drink is ^(B)bitter to those who drink it.
¹⁰ The ^(C)city of chaos is broken down;
^(D)Every house is shut up so that none may enter.
¹¹ There is an ^(E)outcry in the streets concerning the wine;
^(F)All gladness ^[a]turns to gloom.
The joy of the earth is taken away into exile.
